Happy New Year

Gosh where has the year gone!! I finished my job, my oldest child finished University, found himself a job and left home, middle child spent 6 months studying in Australia and my last child left home to study at University. So although my job finished at the end of September somehow I haven't managed to spend much time working on my designs. I set out to have a clear out first and I am still getting rid of Stuff accumulated over lots of years. I have come to the conclusion that we don't need all the Stuff anymore that clutters up the place here. So one of my New Years resolutions is that I will get rid of it. Then Ted the handy man came and did some jobs in the house and.....What a mess! In October, Paul celebrated his 60th birthday and we had a party in Cornwall and a few days holiday in the Cotswolds. So I finish the last blogpost of 2012 with a few photo's of Hidcote
and Snowshill.
I wish you all a wonderful 2013 Marjolein XX

Christmas Snowflakes

For the last craftsession this year we had a Christmas theme. We made Christmas snowflakes with new chrystal and salvaged beads. This was one of the most successful crafting sessions we did as they all made a large and a small snowflake. Everyone enjoyed it very much and the snowflakes all sparkled.
Merry Christmas to all the followers of my Blog. I shall be back before the year finishes with another post and hopefully a look back on the past year. Have a merry time over the next week. MarjoleinX

The Dabble Day

Early November the Buckinghamshire WI held a crafts Dabble day. I was asked to take part as a Tutor. My project was a Jewellery one but the Ladies could make knitted Poppy's, felt stockings, Father Christmasses and lots of other things. It was very enjoyable to see 91 Ladies having so much fun. and we all thought it was a great success. This is what I had prepared.
The day was devided into a morning and an afternoon session, but the boundaries blurred and we crafted all day as lots of Ladies were too eager to carry on!
Lots of hard work going on
Those Memory bracelets have very small beads!
All finished!
The Birdsnest Necklace was one of the favourites.
A big Thank You to Lyndsey for asking me to take part and for the Comittee for their hard work in organising this Dabble Day!!

Little hanging pictures

The Ladies of the WI made some lovely pictures last week. After a few wobbles and a few huffs and puffs... (You know who I mean!!) they all got stuck in and had a lovely time. Some of the Ladies made pictures with hooks to hang some keys or jewellery. Another lovely crafting evening with a special Thank You to Edna for the coffee, tea and biscuits.

.......I present to you for a Night at the Opera..................Madame Butterfly

Welcome to the reveal of the 6th Bead Soup Blog Party. My partner Nat http://www.grubbi.co.uk sent me a lovely Soup to work with. Unfortunately the Soup I sent her got mangled in the post so she has only has a few things to work with. As you can see I spent a lovely time creating. I added quite a few things of my stash and as always I found it quite hard to know when to stop!
The two large flowers on the necklace and bag are creations I made at a class given by the wonderful Jill Flower. Check her out on http://www.jillflower.com/ I spent a fantastic day there as a birthday treat, she is soo creative. My job finishes in September and then I would like to spend more time creating. Come over to my new Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/aroomforchange and like me to see more in the future. A big thank you to Lori. As ever you are fabulously wonderful!!! and to Nat for the ingredients of the Soup. MarjoleinX Have a look what the other participants created with their soups.

Bead Soup!!!!

 6th bead Soup Blog Party

I am taking part in the 6th Bead Soup Blog Party and I can finally  post the soup I received from my partner Nat.
She makes the most fantastic beads which she sells on her Etsy shop
Her blog is http://www.grubbi.co.uk and she is also on Facebook
My partner has only just received my parcel and most of the contents was missing and mangled. I sent her a lovely vintage soup and I am soo dissappointed she did not get to use it. Unfortunately I did not photograph  the soup I sent her. I had waited to post mine until she received my soup. This is what I received from her and I love the colours. You have to wait until the 25th of August to find out what I have made with it.

Dear Ladies of the WI

Once again you have done yourself proud!!! The project was to make essential oil reed diffusers and they look wonderful. We filled them with patchouli and sandalwood or Freesia and Jasmine. At the end of the evening it was smelling lovely in Edna's house! And if I find the photographs of the previous project I promise to post those as well. They are somewhere on the computer......I will find them one day.

Another fantastic crafting session.

What grumbles we had when we started to make these!! Some of you ladies were very reluctant to even start thinking it would end up as a failure, but didn't you all make some wonderful pins!! Another lovely evening hosted by Edna.
